ARTIST PROFILE
Rappers & Rabbis

Rappers & Rabbis
Rappers & Rabbis is led by a dynamic team of artists, rabbis, and educators who merge Jewish tradition with the power of hip-hop. Together, they bring expertise in music, performance, Torah, and community-building, creating spaces where sacred texts and modern beats meet. With co-directors Rachel Haymer (Kol Isha) and Matt Bar (Bible Raps) at the helm, alongside rabbis, rappers, and musicians, the collective embodies the spirit of collaboration and innovation at the heart of Jewish life today.
They’ll be bringing to the festival their Remixed Prayer Service, a short, high-impact 18-minute hip-hop Ma’ariv (evening prayer) experience, led by Rapping Rabbi Rivir and Reb Rachel, backed by the broader Rappers & Rabbis collective. It’s interactive, liturgical, joyful, and designed to “sanctify the stage” and set the spiritual tone for the evening.
In addition to their dynamic performance, Rappers & Rabbis will be inviting attendees, especially kids and teens, to help create a beat, learn a little about hip-hop culture, and (if they dare!) write and record their own raps in R&R’s portable studio. This family-friendly experience offers a fun way to participate in making music at the festival, and it’s guaranteed to be a hit with kids and adults alike!
